Phoenix Children's Pediatrics

This used to be our primary care provider for our toddler and for many reasons we no longer go here. This is a review specifically for the primary care office, we have utilized other services of Phoenix Children’s and have had no issues. Their primary care office bill sick visits under hospital billing resulting in “specialty” visit bills. Anytime we went in for something other than a wellness visit it resulted in a $100-$200 bill. We switched pediatricians because of this, which is a shame because Dr. Thompson is a wonderful pediatrician. Today I tried to schedule a visit for my son to receive the Covid vaccine because our regular office doesn’t stock it. I was denied stating he has to be an established patient there. Im really disappointed on how the staff handled self pay. My family has been coming to this location since i was a child. I understand that they were bought out by Phoenix Childrens company but i verbally confirmed that the appointment would be $30-$100. I get to the appointment only for the front desk to tell me its $90-130. I understand that prices go up every year but when i asked for a solution (if i should call their office instead of the number on google or if i should email) they said that there was nothing they can do. My point is if im to be held accountable then i need to know the exact price before coming in. I know that it ranges but the range is drastically different that was i was told. I have paid $50 consistently for years so for it to almost double is devastating.

We have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr Gill, Dr Salvatore and Dr Thompson. We have not met Dr Patel but I am sure she is of the same caliber. We have had friendly front office staff, and no issues with billing department or referrals. Have been patients at this office since before Dr Dorame retired. Our children can be a handful, and it remains business as usual. We have been to two other pediatrician offices when pch briefly stopped taking blue cross (one a chain and one a solo practice) and the doctors are absolutely incomparable.

I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews, as I’ve only had excellent experiences here. I’ve been coming since February after another parent recommended Dr. Thompson, and I’m so glad I did. She is caring, personable, and relatable—I especially appreciate that she’s also a mom. She takes the time to educate without being pushy, and she’s respectful of different cultures. When Dr. Thompson was on vacation, I saw Dr. Gil and she was also wonderful. The front desk staff are always friendly and organized, which makes visits run smoothly. Overall, I highly recommend this clinic.

I do have to start with our pediatrician Dr. Thompson has been AMAZING! I would rate her 5+ stars. She has been so attentive and had given me great advice. I highly recommend her. However the front office needs some work. We switched insurance and signed multiple forms so that those costs could be covered by the other insurance, they told me they could do that and they never did despite filling out the necessary forms. We now have multiple charges and weren’t notified. Called multiple times to get it settled and it never happened. I will say they’re really sweet up front, but just need more organization. The doctors are amazing though, I don’t want them to lose patients due to the front staff. medical assistants have also been very kind and welcoming. If you can book with Dr Thompson I h
