I went for a cleaning and an exam in January 2025. Prior to making the appointment, I confirmed the provider was in-network. The cleaning was pretty good, and the exam was satisfactory. Since then I have been taken into collections by the provider for a complete set of dental x-rays that were denied by my insurance company (I was only eligible for partial x-rays). Neither the insurance company or provider have any recordings of a phone call that the provider claimed to have made verifying coverage prior to my appointment. It is very unprofessional and I am extremely upset that the provider has not done the *right* thing and settled the bill on my behalf. I had an amazing experience with this dental office. Last night, I chipped my tooth and was really anxious because I have an important event coming up. I called them right at 8 AM on a Saturday, as soon as they opened and they picked up immediately. The front desk lady was incredibly kind and reassuring. She found a 30 minute slot to squeeze me in the same morning, which I really appreciated. When I arrived, they saw me right on time, and both the dentist and the assistant were just as wonderful. They fixed my tooth quickly and did a fantastic job. Dr. Richter and his incredible staff saved the day when I woke up with excruciating pressure on my front tooth. Despite the urgency, they got me in the same day and performed an emergency root canal with precision and care. Their dedication and compassion truly shine through, making me feel like more than just a patient. With over 35 years of trust in their expertise (and I’m only 40 lol), I can confidently say Dr. Richter is the best dentist on the planet!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Richters for over 30 years. As someone who has had more procedures than most will in a lifetime prone to decay due to poor genetics- I can tell you from experience, there’s no one better. There is not a tooth in my mouth that hasn’t received dental intervention by Patchogue Family Dental. I still have all my natural God given teeth and they are beautiful. I receive CONSTANT compliments on my smile and I owe it all to Dr. Richter and his team. They are gentle, compassionate and they take the time to do what’s best for the patient rather than the practice. There is no place better.

Dr. Richter is by far one of the best dentists around. He is knowledgeable, kind, patient, professional and passionate. As a patient who has many difficulties and has limited mouth opening due to scleroderma, Dr. Richter takes his time, makes sure you are comfortable, is transparent through any process that needs to be done, and treats you like family. I whole heartedly highly recommend Dr. Richter. Him and his staff go above and beyond for their patients. The hygienist are also very knowledgeable and diligent. They also make sure the patient is comfortable and leaves with a clean, sparkly smile!
