Novant Health Urgent Care – Conway 501 (Formerly Doctors Care)

I went in for a possibly infected wound during my lunch break. The waiting room was packed with sick people. I already knew I’d risk getting sick by going to urgent care but I figured being in the ER with MRSA would be worse if I waited. I made an appointment and showed up early, hoping that would lessen my time in the waiting room with all the flu/covid patients. It did not but I saw how busy they were and totally understood they were probably behind. After 45 minutes of waiting, I decided to leave to go back to work. I knew if I didn’t have a room by then, there was no telling how long I’d be stuck there. I just didn’t have time. My son was seen here recently, and we had a very positive experience. All of the staff were very friendly, professional, and quick to help. They made the visit smooth and easy, and we truly appreciated how kind and efficient everyone was.

I’ve been to this location twice in the last two weeks. My first visit the front desk lady called me rude for speaking up after she let my paperwork get lost and several patients that came after me went in before I did. The dr. was very caring and turned the visit around for me. My condition did not improve and when I went back yesterday it was the dr that was awful(and while I was in the exam room a different provider came in and called me by a different name and said “I think I’m in the wrong room”—like what?)He had horrible bedside manner and despite my symptoms not improving he refused to refill my prescription cough medicine, stating that it was “too sedating”. It wasn’t like I asked for a controlled substance just regular medication. He recommended something else that I couldn’t even

I went in today for a second opinion with my little 18 month old who was just pitiful and not feeling great. Everyone from the moment I walked in was wonderful. The provider we saw was so compassionate and truly took the care and time with my little boy! I am so thankful for their attentiveness and willingness to take the time to think out the diagnosis and treatment.

Reception staff is absolutely rude! If you value your time I suggest you do not go to this location. The 2 people on staff Dec 17th 2025 pick and choose who they decide goes first regardless of check in time. This reorder is not even the result of triage. If they know you they will expedite your care. When questioned, they will lie right to your face and say the people were there an hour before you which is not true especially when you saw these people drive up, check in with symptom description, insurance card handover and paperwork all after you have been patiently waiting.
