Smitha John NP is hands down the best doctor sorry nurse practitioner that I have ever had in my entire life!!! I actually want to move not because I don’t Love Putnam County. It’s just becoming very expensive but I chose to get a second job so I can afford to live here Just so I don’t have to give her up as my primary care doctor! Not only is she the sweetest and most caring person I think I’ve ever met in my life But she goes out of her way to help her patients. She accomplishes more in one appointment than most doing three and you can tell when someone’s just going through the motions and when they genuinely care and I gotta tell you, you will not find better. If negative stars were available this group would get them all. I was a patient here and my doc had an emergency and is on leave. They called to cancel my appointment and when no one called to reschedule I called and asked what is happening? Doc out till at least October. So I asked for a different Endo doc and they have none and don't refer. Way to take care of your patients. I was really shocked that they had no care or concern for patients. No plan in place for emergencies. Stay away. I loved my doc here, but front office and senior management needs some serious work.

Had a pretty strange experience with one of the schedulers at this location. I received a message from this office that I needed to reschedule an appointment with a call back number. The woman who answered told me she could not reschedule my appointment and abruptly hung up on me before I could say anything. The doctors and PA here were fine but this isn't the first time the front desk has been weirdly hostile.

Dr merla is wonderful. However I have had repeated issues with the staff. One was they said I had no insurance when I did infact have it but regardless the check in staff wouldn't let me in to the appointment for a follow up after a cardiac procedure. Both CVS and express scripts have had repeated issues getting my prescription authorized leaving me without my medicine at times. Again the doctors are great but the staff keeps dropping the ball.

I have to agree with previous reviewers - the medical staff are lovely and caring, but please, please do something about the front desk. They are so rude in Carmel. I’ve been to the Fishkill office, and the admin staff are wonderful there. So, I would recommend the doctors and medical personnel, but just avoid the Carmel office.
