Meijer Pharmacy

I’ve never really had a bad experience here. I switched from the Walgreens also on Sunset which was a nightmare. The meijer pharmacy does seem to have more staff which is helpful. I haven’t had to wait very long for my medication. Unfortunately the pharmacy staff has to work with people who are sick, grumpy, and irritated. No one is in a good mood trying to get their medication. I know working in healthcare first hand how difficult this is. There’s stress on both ends. Unfortunately the villian of every healthcare professional is insurance. I think a lot of people put this issue out on the poor staff who have no control over any of it. Everyone has been kind to me.

Pharmacists and Techs are always pleasant and are all very knowledgeable. They always have concern for my family and know many people by name. I would suggest this pharmacy over any in the area.

Tried to get a prescription transferred from my mail order as they could not get it too me asap as I was out. I called the pharmacy on a Friday about 2 pm I was informed due to the Holidays they were on Holiday hours and they could not do this. I gave them the direct number who to contact name of drug dosage and primary care physician if needed They still refused to try to obtain this I did not expect this to be completed this day but wanted the process to begin The answer was still no Needless to say I contacted another pharmacy and my refill was ready for pick up the following Monday!

Two stars for courteous communication, but the pharmacist’s unnecessary and unqualified intervention in my doctor’s prescription felt like overreach. Despite my objections and my doctor’s reaffirmation, the Meijer pharmacist decided to challenge the doctor’s judgment, ultimately refusing to fill the prescription and suggesting I go to a different pharmacy. This level of interference seems inappropriate and undermines the expertise of qualified medical professionals. I sincerely hope this approach doesn’t negatively impact other patients.

Always a very satisfactory experience at Meijer Pharmacy. The people behind the counter are extremely kind and helpful. Never had a bad experience.
