Medical City Decatur, A Campus of Medical City Denton

I never had a problem with the Decatur hospital when it was Wise County. However, this is my first encounter with them being Medical City. When arriving on the floor for surgery there was no one at the window and the sign by the phone said answer the phone if nobody is at the window, meaning visitors in the waiting room please answer the phone. That is totally unacceptable! Aside from that everything was cut and dry. Staff, very personable. I think the issue lies within the administrative aspects of having it been changed to Medical City.

The whole team doing my procedure was absolutely amazing. They all took the time to explain everything. I was very upset, not about the procedure, but my mom had just passed a little over a week before and she was always there for anything medical. Everyone was so kind and kept asking if I was ok or if I needed anything. The ultrasound tech (I hope that is her job description) held my hand the whole time to make sure I knew someone was with me. The dr made sure I wasn’t in any pain or discomfort, and made sure everything was 100% sterile (as a nurse myself that was very important).

My experience at Decatur Medical City Hospital was truly a 10/10. From triage to the nurses, CT scan team, and my Dr Denise in the ER department. Every single person treated me with kindness, patience, and respect. I never felt rushed or ignored. They listened to all my concerns, explained everything clearly, and made me feel like a person—not just another patient. The compassion and professionalism meant more than they’ll ever know. I am beyond grateful for the care I received and highly recommend this hospital and staff.

I wasn’t really excited about being induced, but every single step of the process was explained to me very well. I had probably 6/7 different nurses during my stay. Each one was amazing!! I seriously have no complaints… all my needs were met and questions were answered. After the baby was delivered, I got as much help as needed learning some basic things as I’m a first time mom. I kept expecting a negative experience at least once during my stay but it didn’t happen. I am very impressed with this team and wish every woman could have as good experience as I did during labor/birth.

My first visit to this facility was on November 14, 2025. I was very impressed. Check-in/registration was easy and the lady at the reception desk was very sweet and efficient. My technician, Ashley (I really hope I remembered her name correctly) was sympathetic to the fact that I was a new widow and asked about my husband throughout the exam. It kept my mind off a somewhat embarrassing exam and also gave me a chance to share a few sweet remembrances of him. She even said, "We honor them by talking about them." I appreciated that extra touch of empathy to my situation.
