Heritage Place of Decatur

When arriving at Heritage Park from Decatur medical center. The hospital didn't write any orders for pain meds or IV antibiotics. I got last pain meds at about 4 pm, they transported me at 8:30pm. Now my next meds was due at 8:45pm and wasn't given any before leaving hospital. So on arrival I was in extreme pain. The nurse was saying just deal with it and didn't like the fact I was very noisy on how much pain I was in. I'm incontinent so here I am peeing and pooping all over myself and the nurse was only concerned about me being loud because of pain. So they changed me while jerking me all around. The more they jerked me the louder I got with pain. They asked what I wanted to do, I had them take me back to hospital. The transport was able to give me some pain meds which helped. From time

Tonight I went to the nursing home, and I went to get a snack with my money. I didn't have enough. So I went up to the front desk asking nurse Kelly if she had change. I told her that I wanted skittles. She said she would pay for the skittles. But nurse Anne told me and her no. Is nurse Anne the snack police? No! I didn't say anything. I just went back to the residence room. If this is how this staff treats the fellow patrons and friends coming up there to see their family members? I sure hope not.

Hopefully you never have to put your parent in a nursing home but sometimes it just can’t be avoided. That being said, I highly recommend Heritage Place of Decatur. We moved my Mama back in October from another one here in Decatur. Believe me it was all a God thing, he knew what she needed not to mention all of us , she was the happiest she had ever been & we had peace of mind that she was being taken care of. No complaints whatsoever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of you for taking such good care of our precious Mama & for keeping her comfortable in her last days. You will always hold a special place in my ❤️
