Dr. Benjamin was recommended to me by my breast surgeon. I had just been diagnosed with breast cancer and was going to have a double mastectomy and reconstruction. I remembered my mother’s horrible experience with breast cancer in 1977 and was extremely apprehensive at the thought of having these kind of surgeries. I met with Dr. Benjamin and found him reassuringly calm, a good listener, and great at explaining what would take place. (His staff is lovely, too.) It took me 5 days after the surgery to look at my new breasts. I knew I’d see stitches and that it could take up to a year for my breasts to take their final shape. I was looking for a plastic surgeon that was extremely skilled and had the upmost patient care for my implant exchange. I had been to a few in town and just didn’t feel it was the right fit. Upon meeting Dr. Martin, I felt at ease and felt as if I mattered. He was kind, compassionate and highly skilled and knowledgeable. His staff was phenomenal and treat you so kindly. He performed my implant exchange. Just as he has said, the recovery process was easy and was able to stop pain medication on day 2. Dr Martin Benjamin is extremely detailed and thorough . He takes the time to explain and listens intently. His concern and care is impeccable … i had breast cancer 5 years ago and had a unilateral mastectomy. I made the decision to remove my other breast and undergo reconstruction on both sides as the precious reconstruction had serious issues.
