Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau

One of my best friends went to this center upon being released from the hospital. She had not been put of her wheel chair in atleast 2 years. Her first day there though, she was taking steps when I walked into her room. That was a week ago. Less actually. This evening I went to surprise her with a little visit. Instead, she surprised me. She was able to move herself from her bed to the wheelchair. Then she was able to use the restroom on her own too. She is a 2× stroke victim, or she was anyhow. I wouldn't call her a victim now of anything honestly. A true fighter...a survivor is much more like it. All of the staff I've met are fantastic, knowledgeable, kind, patient, friendly...someone even took the time to paint her fingernails. Something so seemingly small but it lit her up. She was so

The ratings depend on what day it is and whos working. Today, i give 3 stars. Sometimes i cant believe my eyes at what i see or hear. Ive had 30 plus years of nursing home and hospital work, so i do know alot about the setting, so when somethings not right, im not afraid to let it be known. This could be an excellent place if some of the employees were weeded out and good help put with the help that is there that care about their patients instead of just showing up for a paycheck. There are a few that are wonderful and caring..There needs to be more of these and turn loose of the ones that obviosly dont have compassion..

Life Care in Cape Girardeau is gross! When my sister moved in there several years ago, it looked clean and fresh. But, it isn't any more! The floors, carpets, walls, linens, everything about it is run down and in disrepair! The foid is very poor quality. My sister is diabetic. They brought her a meal tray that consisted of some sort of meat, mashed potatoes with gravy, macaroni, bread, cake with frosting, and two glasses of red fruit punch! Nothing but carbohydrates and sugars! I do believe that she is getting better care since I turned you guys into the state and called your cooperate office a few months ago. That's why I gave you one star. Be careful putting your loved one here. I would recommend frequent visits to check ups. Do not assume that since the name of this place is "life

We were pleased to see that the carpet was cleaned & odor free (100 hallway) since the previous visit. Staff friendly & visitors of residents welcomed you readily with smile & acknowledgement.

I visited Life Care Center searching for a home for my loved one last week! I found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. The building and grounds were immaculate and very well kept.Of all of the facilities I toured, Life Care Center is my first choice for my grandmother!
