Lake Carmel Pharmacy

I always thought small, family-run pharmacies were supposed to be more personal and customer-friendly, but my experience here has been the complete opposite. After years of coming to this pharmacy, the pharmacist continues to be consistently rude and unprofessional. They recently changed their hours from 9 AM to 10 AM — fine, no problem. But when you walk in at 10:15, you’re greeted with comments like “I just opened,” as if customers showing up during business hours are somehow an inconvenience. If you’re open, expect people to be there. Even worse is the way the pharmacist speaks to his staff. I’ve personally heard him say things like “What, can’t you read?” to the young employee at the register. It’s uncomfortable to witness and completely inappropriate. Every visit leaves you feeling li

"The service customers deserve"?? JNR in Brewster closed. Without a word of warning when I refilled my prescription in January. I had to hear from a doctor's office that they are closed permanently. I called Lake Carmel today per the recording on JNR's phone system and they do not have my medication in stock. No offers to get it or an estimate of how long; just a dismissive recommendation to have my doctor's office send the scrip to another pharmacy. It's not like it's an uncommon medication.

Great little local pharmacy. Very happy to have a non-chain to go to for my prescription needs. Staff is prompt and helpful. Good pricing on essentials and generics available for most OTCs.

Stopped in here to pick up some supplies after my husband sustained a gardening injury and was pleasantly surprised by their selection and great customer service. Glad to give a small business my patronage rather than one of the big, commercial shops!
