Lacoba Nursing Home Inc

I give it a 1 star because my sister does have a place to stay in out of the weather. And she has gotten along with most of the residents there. But MOST of all....The sweets, snacks, soda, and drinks are just out there for any resident at any given time, and unlimited!!! Even if they are diabetic or high cholesterol or blood pressure, they can still have all they want anytime they want it!!!

My mom had been there before it went well. But when mom got on her last days, things was not very good. Her mouth had not beened clened out she had not been and needed changed most times I went to see her. Her last night and day. NOONE CALLED ME. They know she was passing. But no call. Want I don't understand is why AFTER SHE PASSED. They called me to tell me she passed. When I got there they said I could say I could stay as long as I wanted. What I don't understand why I could stay as long as I wanted after she passed, but no call before. You could say because of covid? NO ... You could say they did not know NO.. They told me about how long she had been in the death zone. So WHY. Had I known I would had took her home. She had no reason to die alone. 🤧🤧😟😢 God help them.

Sorry I sm late saying this .In December I fell and broke my hip and had to go to rehab for therapy. As being a Nurse this was not at all im my plans. I want to say that my stay at Lacoba was very satisfactory..My room was private very pretty large flat screen tv. All the staff were all very courteous and cheerful and always knocked before entering my room. The food was good always hot. The physical therapy dept was amazing They did their job well always friendly and would have every one laughing which I for sure needed being it was 2 days before Christmas. Their is nothing bad I could I could say of my stay. I highly recommend it. My family were great and staff were do kind to them Hi 5 Lacoba . Peggy O'Bryan .

Our mother was sent to Lacoba for rehab from a fall, not an illness. Initial rehab was in the right direction and progressing despite several rough handlings by aids, one resulting in dislocating her shoulder. They need more aids. Mom would often wait 45min-1 hour for required help to or from the restroom. The doctor came by only one time 8 days after admittance and change all her meds to the "required facility brand, dosage of medications". This sudden introduction of new meds sent her body immediately into the "nursing home zombie state" and drug withdrawals. Pleas with the nurses, waiting on the doctor phone responses for hours, days, changes, still resulted in her death. Choose a facility that lets you continue your own meds, an older person's body cannot adapt to "required changes" so

This was the worst experience ever. If you have even half a heart dont go here. Find somewhere in Springfield. Just because the building is nice doesnt mean the people are. BEWARE!!!
