In April of 2022 I went to this doctor for allergy testing. I asked if he can do them all at one time, because driving all the way across the county it’s a little more difficult to get there and back and he said no!! so I said I’m going to decline getting them done because it’s just not efficient for me. He got mad. He picked the vials up and toss them at me. He said do it yourself I threw the vials in my purse and I left. I was upset too. Today three years later, I looked in my drawer, going through a bunch of junk that I need to throw away and see the vials, I we were we researched them. it’s strongly recommending against doing them yourself and if you have allergic reaction to one of them, and you don’t have medical attention right there beside you, you could die. Going into the initial appointment I was very skeptical after reading all these bad reviews, but honestly I think they’re just mad. Cottam and staff are perfectly capable, kind, and professional. Both my appointments in Bartow and Brandon offices were quick and easy. The doctor and his assistant made sure I had no questions and assured that I knew what was going on. They were super helpful accommodating my travel plans into scheduling my followup appointment. I had a biopsy done on my lip and Cottam was fast but did a fantastic job! Don’t trust all the bad reviews you see here, Dr John Cottam is a fine doctor.

Doc is very down to earth, personable, and knowledgeable! His staff is great as well! My biopsy turned out great, can hardly even tell and I literally just had the stitches out. I have a genetic condition that causes different skin abnormalities, he's very thorough!

Wow!!! I had to write something because I went there about 6-7 years ago and doctor did act like he was on uppers, made me feel uneasy. I had a serious condition of lip and eye swelling with nonstop excessive peeling. He prescribed 5 different medications w/o finding root cause of my symptoms, I ended up not using any. Medical assistant that was there was very sweet. Anyway by reading reviews I see office has not changed. Very scary. In the long wrong I juiced for 3months because could not swallow that is how bad whatever was attacking my body became could not open mouth for solids😳. With juicing and probiotics my body finally healed, but it was a very horrifying experience.

Dirty, nasty..Instruments left out on tables very unsanitary. I had a spot on my upper chest clearly visible with my front button shirt on. He demanded take off shirt or he wouldn't examine it. They offer no gowns. When I said I didn't need to remove my shirt he started yelling and ranting. Needless to say I left with no exam. He appears to be on drugs or something. He is very rude and needs his license revoked. What kind of doctor is this? I will be writing medical board to examine his practice
