John A Bertelson, MD, FAAN

My wife was having neurological issues. I spent hours looking for the Best Neurologist in town researching on the internet and speaking with friends who were having the same issue. Dr. Bertelson's name kept coming up. His CV is incredible. He obtained an MD from University of Texas, went to the Mayo Clinic and then to Harvard. If all of this isn't impressive enough, he is the nicest, kindest man you could ever meet. If there is one downside, it takes months to see him BECAUSE he is so good he stays busy and packed with patients. But, if you want the BEST...you wait. My personal opinion is that he is the best in Austin.

Sharing same experience as others... took awhile to find " right one!". Being in healthcare as well, I was selective in finding a neurologist for my sister's dementia/Alzhmr. Might take xtra time & patience to set up appointment but it's worth it. Besides the impressive bio, he is very kind, compassionate, great listener and does not rush you. Highly recommend Dr. J. Bertelson. Thank you.

Reviews help. I got a referral for a few doctors. After reviewing these reviews, Dr. Bertelson is the one I will choose to see my dad. I will certainly return with my full review after our visit. Thanks Update:Turns out Dr.Bertelson, does not see patients for what my dad is experiencing. Although Dr. Bertelson has great reviews, the girl "Tonya" in his office is very RUDE DISGUSTING person. Surely Dr. Bertelson does not know how Tonya treats his future patients or patients. I hope he reads this and finds out who is representing him.

Hi, Hope everyone is doing good. Unfortunately, I experienced a TBI about 3 years ago. I was in acoma for a couple of weeks. When I "got out" of acoma my husband told me Dr. Bertelson was my doctor. After my acoma, I couldn't walk, talk, communicate, etc. Dr. Bertelson was such an amazing doctor! I seriously didn't know what to expect due to me never having a TBI before. He was super patient, informative, understanding, everything. I'm very sorry that you or someone you know, love & care for needs a Brain Doctor but Dr. Bertelson or "Dr. B" as we call him in our house- is such a wonderful doctor! I wish you the best of luck with your recovery!

Dr. Berterson is a brilliant doctor! He diagnosed my husband right on; corticobasal degeneration is rare condition, famous for being difficult to be diagnosed. Most people goes years being treated for something else, so I’m very thankful for his expertise. He was also very attentive with us, and spent plant of time to educate us about the disease.
