Jana Cooke MD, Pulmonary

Dr Cooke has been my pulmonary doctor for several years and has helped me with my sleep apnea and related issues. She has always been an active listener and treats me with patience and compassion. I wish more doctors could understand that treating patients with respect goes a long way. I was happy to find her at her new practice in Smokey Point.

I had an appointment with Dr. Cooke and I had to wait a long time in the office waiting room to see her. When she came in to see me, she just brushed me off quickly for my questions. Then she refused to submit my request for a sleep study at the hospital because she said she think my insurance wouldn’t cover. I called my insurance to verify the information Dr. Cooke told me and she raised her voice to tell me too to the lobby. I asked her how I can file a complaint and she raised her voice even more to me stating that my behavior wasn’t acceptable and she is going to call security to escort me out. My anxiety and panic attacks started and I called 911 for help. She raced down stairs to try to make a scene in the lobby to embarrass me in front of the public while I was on the phone with 911
