She is truly one of the most compassionate, ethical, and caring veterinarians I have encountered in over 50 years of being a pet owner. From the moment you walk in, it is clear that her priority is always the health and well-being of the animals—not money. Dr. Ratner has an incredible gift for making both pets and their owners feel at ease. She is endlessly kind and sensitive, taking the time to explain every detail until you are fully comfortable. I have been bringing my two cats here since 2018 for annual wellness check and vaccinations. Dr. Ratner is very attentive and knowledgable. The office staffs are helpful and friendly, and handle paperwork for my insurance claims with great competency and patience. Recently, my cat got a surgery here to remove tumor on his head, and thanks to Dr. Ratner and her staff, my cat recovered very fast. I highly recommend Dr. Ratner!

I cannot recommend Dr. Ratner enough. She is the kind of veterinarian you want on your side—direct, sharp, and refreshingly honest. Her demeanor can be a bit brash and serious at times, but that’s because she doesn’t sugarcoat or waste your time. She tells you the truth, and she tells it straight. I brought my pet to her after another vet tried to push me into an unnecessary emergency dental surgery that would have cost me around $2,500. Dr. Ratner took one look, did a thorough assessment, and confirmed there was absolutely no need for emergency intervention. She saved me from being scammed and, more importantly, spared my pet from going through something completely avoidable. The two women at the front desk (one with multi colored died hair) and the other with brown hair. They were here Saturday, maybe their usual day. They are beyond rude. I had a 1:15PM appointment. It was 2:15PM and I had asked why I hadn’t been seen yet. They told me it was going to be a while and a woman was here who hadn’t been seen yet since 11:15AM. I told them that I thought that was very inconsiderate of my time. People have places to be. If they knew someone was here since that time and wouldn’t be seen for multiple hours, why wouldn’t they have called the other patients to let them know to come in later or to reschedule. They clearly knew this for multiple hours. They were dismissive and acted like they couldn’t care any less. Island Park Animal Hospital does this consistently.

Dr. Ratner is one the very best she’s caring and funny she pays attention to you when you are talking to her about what’s wrong with your pet I find her very direct and to the point but I love that about her she saved my pup Travis life when no other could and I’m forever grateful to her for her kindness and knowledge and over all compassion .Her staff is just as caring. If you need a great dr. for your pet look no more Dr. Ratner you won’t be disappointed .
