Homestead Rehabilitation and Health Care Center

My elderly mother was just released after 3+ months of rehab for a hip replacement. I have to say that the quality of care here is simply wonderful. Everyone who works there, from nurses to aids, physical and occupational therapists, even housekeeping is fully invested in your care. Over time, you feel as though they are your family too and we felt so sad when it was time to go home! Big shout-out to RN Rosa, Sheri, Colleen, Andrea P, Lynette, APN Terry, Anne Marie, Desiree, Verity, and so many others who made this transitional time as smooth as possible...done with skill, patience, and a smile. Thank you all!

I would like to thank the kind people at Homestead for their compassionate care as my father transitioned from hospital to home. A special thank you to the admissions office and Desiree B. for providing guidance and support with issues that would otherwise be overwhelming.

I just got cut loose today. I will miss the staff that I got to know over the past five weeks while I've been here. They were kind and attentive and showed remarkable initiative in the care of the other patients. The only issue I had was the lack of choice in options for dining. To be fair, I'm a fussbudget when it comes to the food I eat lol. Thank you, everyone. Even you, my primary tormentor, Noel! If it weren't for you pushing me I doubt I would've made the progress I did in such a short time. God bless you and your coworkers for the work you do. -John.

My mother and I put my dad in this facility after being in the hospital. I wish we didn’t because my dad’s condition has become worse after his stay here and now has been readmitted into the hospital for kidney failure. The physician and nurses failed to complete his blood work regularly and when talking to the physician about our concerns with fluid in his abdomen and swelling, the physician said it was not a concern and blamed my father for being uncooperative and not progressing with physical therapy. The reason he was not progressing was because the medical team failed to recognize he was heading into kidney failure even though we raised concerns and they were ready to kick him out of the facility because he couldn’t complete physical therapy.
