We hired Amber as a doula to help us through my first pregnancy and birth. I knew I wanted to have an unmedicated birth and I wanted to labor at home as long as possible. Amber gave us support and education throughout my pregnancy and helped me prepare for birth. She talked through all of the aspects of birth, decisions that we would need to make and helped us understand what to expect. When my labor started my husband reached out to Amber and she supported him and guided him on how to support me through my early labor. Once things began to progress she came to the house and labored with me. Prior to her arrival, both my husband and I were starting to get anxious and were considering going to the hospital. I'm writing a review for Amber and her work as an intimacy coach. I've never done anything like this before and Amber had a really comforting, affirming, and warm presence. I appreciated that we did a combination of inner work and exploration and also worked on actions, coping skills, and strategies for connecting with my partner. I'm coincidentally also pregnant with my first baby, and I really appreciated Amber's experience as a midwife and how it informed her knowledge of how couples go through this very life changing transition through pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.
