HCA Florida Englewood Hospital Emergency Room

We just moved to the area six weeks ago from Cleveland ,Ohio and needed to access services at the Englewood Hospital ED. We were quite pleased with the care received. Our ED Nurse Ashlie and Physician Dr Coffey provided EXCEPTIONAL care. We appreciated the compassion, attentiveness and responsiveness to my husband’s medical emergency. I absolutely 💯 would go here again if needed. Great nurse Ashley's super kind. Us the best ER Doctor I've ever been around. Jean-Paul Romes is absolutely 💯 professional and funny. Did not come and go in a heated rush. He listened to me. I give them 10 out of 10. Thank you...Halona Michels

Took my elderly mother into the ER at 1:00pm on a Thursday...didn't get out of there until 8:00pm. They did absolutely NOTHING for her during that whole time except give her a warm blanket...no pain medicine even though she was in extreme pain. No IV even though she had been throwing up for past 8 hours. A scan was taken about 2:30pm then NOTHING. A nurse came out & asked us "What are you here for again?" around 4:15pm. Mom was finally taken back to a triage room, had 2 nurses & a rude older lady doctor all rushing to ask her questions, draw blood & find out why she was there. Mom has onset dementia & that choas was too much for her, especially with her being in so much pain. On the 3rd try a 2nd nurse got a blood draw. After that, NOTHING again...for hours. Not good! A guy was being sarcastic while taking my information. I was saying how bad my ankle hurt. His answer: What's wrong...can't you take pain? The guy at the front desk had no personality...showed very little concern for the patients checking in. Only 1 doctor on duty in the ER. I was in severe pain yet no one would give me pain medicine. Some nurses and x-ray technicians were not very nice. Overall an uncaring staff. My visit last spring was even worse...and I wrote my review back then. Never heard a response. Your hospital needs a total review on what patients expect from your employees. I won't be back.

We had 2 great nurses while in the ER, Lauren and Chloe. One other nurse there also, who obviously didn’t enjoy her job too much that was helping them. It took awhile to find out what was going on and that my husband needed admitting, saw a PA but no Dr. until a few hours later.
