Kerry is a generous and skilled practitioner with excellent knowledge of the mind-body connection. It’s wonderful to have a PT right at the gym, too. I recommend her highly! This winter I bruised my tailbone in a snowboarding accident. My first thought was that I was going to have to give up my weight training program, and I was really upset. Thankfully, I contacted Kerry McCarthy to see if I could adjust my training regimen so that I could continue to get the benefit of working out and not lose my momentum while allowing my tailbone to heal. Kerry fit me in right away, and listened carefully to my needs. She assessed my injury carefully and helped me to develop a tailored training program so I could keep working out. Thanks to her skill and generosity I was able to learn new moveme

I've been doing cross-fit at Green Mountain Community Fitness for just about a year. I had done several Every Day Stronger series including Olympic lifting. That was when I first noticed my left shoulder pain. I was preforming and snatch balance exercise when I strained my shoulder causing a shoulder impingement. I didn't think anything of it. I thought the pain would get better over time. It continued to hurt for about 6 weeks and it wasn't getting better. I had hear great things about Kerry at Foundation Physio, she came highly recommend. For the beginning Kerry was extremely professional really took the time to listen to me. She was able to give me exercises to work on for two weeks at a time, and then at each session build off of that. I was really shocked how quickly my shoulder sta

Kerry got me up and running following my first ankle surgery years ago, so I knew who to call to help get me back in action following a second, and much more extensive, ankle surgery. Kerry accommodated my situation in so many ways and helped me to maintain a positive attitude. Because of Kerry’s expertise, I was back to recreating in the woods and lifting full strength a little over three months following an ankle reconstruction.

My work in the environmental conservation field has shifted from the majority of my days out in the field, walking the backwoods and wild places of Vermont, to a role where the majority of my time is spent managing my inbox. Field work was always full of aches and pains but things seemed to shake out in the wash. Alongside all that trekking for work, I also mixed in a fair amount of strength training, pick-up basketball, and hiking into a fairly active life. I’ve had a few injuries along the way; a torn meniscus that limited ambitions for long distance running, some shoulder and upper back strains from overhead press gone wrong, and a handful of pretty intense calf-strains. Over the last 5 or 6 years these old injuries have seemed to creep back into my life with some pretty intense pain.

After years of repeated running injuries and ineffective PT, my sports medicine doctor referred me to Kerry McCarthy at Foundation Physio. Kerry treated me holistically, which meant long and very helpful discussions of my history of injuries and pain as well as a new plan for building more strength to support running and prevent injuries. After about six months of intense weight lifting under Kerry's excellent care and guidance, I am running again without injuries. Kerry's totally different and very effective approach has meant an end to my pain and the frustration of passive periods when I can't run, bike, or work out. She is an excellent listener and extremely supportive and encouraging. The "homework" that she assigns is effective if you're committed and do it consistently and correctly
