Family Medicine - Colchester, University of Vermont Medical Center

I love working with Dr Sproul, and the staff (nurses, front desk, etc) are all wonderful. I'm autistic and get really anxious and stressed at any sort of clinic or when I need to make phone calls, but it hasn't taken long for me to start to feel more comfortable around these people. The clinic itself is still really uncomfortable to me (especially the lighting and the use of background music in the lobby) and there are still all the issues of the current healthcare system, and I would certainly love for these things to be different, but frankly I'm just really grateful for the staff I've met and want to give them a shoutout.

I’ve only ever had positive experiences with my PCP’s at Colchester Family Medicine. All of my practitioners have been professional and thorough.

Unresponsive, inconsiderate, and overly bureaucratic, making it incredibly difficult for psychiatric patients to get the necessary medications they need. Right now they are refusing to refill a prescription for someone very close to me, for a medication that he has used in the past without issues. He has very severe anxiety and can't sleep or function well in public without it, plus he has a documented history of hospitalizations, and they're telling him he has to wait months to see someone. I begged for him to be reconnected with the doctor after the doctor refused to refill it, and the UVMMC receptionist hung up on me. Update: one year later and still having issues with this place. The receptionist at this office is OUTRAGEOUSLY RUDE, she’s their often,middle age woman with brown hair, she NEEDS to be fired with the way she interacts with patients! I think she may be the worst receptionist I’ve come across actually and that says a lot!I was told by her a nurse would call me back after I called and asked to see my doctor via zoom/web call I couldn’t make it to the office because of an emergency but still really needed to atleast speak with my doctor regarding meds I needed and that were actually supposed to be given to me weeks before but never were.She said the doctor was too busy and she couldn’t talk to me, but how would the doctor be busy during MY APPOINTMENT TIME!!!(I even called 20 mins before my appt so she would have had a heads up about it)the receptionist d

Very professional very friendly staff. I love my doctor Dr. staats. She is fantastic and I would recommend her to everyone. Always great service there.
