Emerson Health Urgent Care Maynard

What is the point of making an appointment if you have to wait forty minutes in a room full of sick people after the time the appointment is scheduled? I got swabbed for rapid tests after waiting about forty minutes in the waiting room, then got sent back to the waiting room, then called into a private room. I have been waiting for a doctor in a room by myself now for over an hour. I saw the rapid test results in my mychart shortly after moving into this room. I have now been here for over two hours and seen a clinician for all of three minutes. I do appreciate that other people here have bigger problems than I have but perhaps those people merit an emergency room visit rather than an urgent care clinic. I really want to go home and eat soup and take some more dayquil and a nap. Mayb

Overall my experience in a recent visit last month to Emerson Urgent Care in Maynard was very pleasant. The staff was very helpful and got me into a room at my appointment time. I certainly appreciated the time Dr. Venditti took with me when I came in with a terrible cough, fever, and overall exhaustion. After flu/covid testing, it was actually determined that I had pneumonia. Dr. Venditti has an exceptional bed-side manner that is not always found in an Urgent Care Facility. She showed a real interest in my symptoms and gave insightful reasons for why I was feeling so bad. She had me do chest x-rays which confirmed the pneumonia and spent time with me detailing the meds she was prescribing and how long it would take to start feeling any better. This office provided the most neglectful care I have ever experienced. I made an appointment for 4:20 to get help with my high fever and severe cough. I arrived on time and was told I would be waiting for 6 people in front of me. I asked if there was somewhere I could lie down given my serious condition, and was told to lie in my car (in February in New England). When I was finally seen I was diagnosed with Influenza B and provided with a prescription to help the cough and fever. The following day my condition worsened considerably, and the medicine I was given was completely ineffective. I was in so much pain I could not move. I called back to get more help and was told a doctor would call me back. After nearly five hours of no response I called again, and was told there was nothing they

I sought help with a sinus infection. Dr Paoloni was very compassionate and quickly confirmed a bacterial infection. We tested for COVID, influenza and strep as well and all were negative. I got prompt, comprehensive care. So grateful for Urgent Care.

I came in with a large difficult sprinter I could not get out. They saw me within 20 minutes numbed it up and cut it out and got the entire splinter out in one piece. Very nice understanding doctor who communicated well.
