Emergency One Urgent Care & Occupational Health

So the nurse practitioner was nice but very unskilled. Not good at her job. Misdiagnosed me, refused to give me antibiotics and gave me a referral for an X-ray place that doesn’t have appointments until February next year (it’s November). She also gave me another script for the medication I told her wasn’t helping at all… Ur better off at the one in Kingston or going to Optimus urgent care.

In and Out with Ease. Nurse Ava or Eva I believe was her name, or the petite brunette with beautiful "brown" eyes and a perfect smile, was such a sweetheart who had a soft tender touch, and calming voice which makes going to the doc that much less stressful. I Tested + for COVID and the Doc quickly prescribed me antibiotics suitable for my situation. Just had to wait the 15 mins it takes for results from nasal swab test. Then take a trip to my preferred pharmacy. If I am ever in need a medical assistance while in the area this would be my go to walk-in clinic.

I found myself without a PCP as of Jan 2025, and really tried to find a new one but so far without success. Then when I came down w a respiratory thing that hung on for months I went to this urgent care facility located in Hyde Park as a sort of hail-Mary attempt, not expecting much. But staff took time to fully understand my condition, were very responsive to my questions / confusions, and I had an appropriate pretty quick recovery. That was then, and now when I fell sick with flu-like symptoms over Christmas that collapsed into a nasty croup cough, I headed back — and had same all-thumbs-up experience there today!

Walked in at 3:30 and the nasty reception girl was beyond rude to me and told me they have no appointments left for the day… it’s an urgent care don’t know why you would need an appointment? Anyway switched to Optum urgent care - way better experience. Friendlier staff and less wait times. Safe to say me and my family won’t be returning to an emergency one ever. Hope they fire the moody one up at the front!

It was very easy to check in, l only had to wait 10 minutes to be seen and Michelle did tests immediately, within 30 minutes l was out of there on my way to the pharmacy to get my meds and then home.
