ECU Health North Hospital

I went in the emergency room today because I have been dealing with an 8mm kidney stone that is moving and has caused me horrific pain since Sunday. The pain when I got there was unimaginable. I had already been to Ahoskie to their er with urine that was blood red and the same pain level and never once was I given anything for pain or nausea. Then I went to my doctor who gave me a shot of toradol, and sent me home with tramadol which is a joke to kidney stone pain. At Roanoke Rapids I was almost immediately taken into triage, and given a bed in no time. The nurses were all wonderful and the doctor did more for me in this one day than anyone has done all week! I was treated as a priority. They actually took my pain seriously and I got to come home feeling so much better than I did when I go

My first MRI experience at ECUH North went well. Everyone was very kind to me, from registration to discharge. The young man who assisted me to the ER was so helpful and is very good at explaining the process. Tim was awesome in finding that tiny vein in my hand for the iv contrast. The woman who performed the MRI was great! While I do not suffer from claustrophobia, I believe she would be able talk someone through it!

The staff at the MRI were outstanding. The manager was extremely welcoming and helped me obtain my script and appointment as I am from out of state and had a few obstacles. They were able to get me a Saturday appointment so I did not need to miss work. The girl who registered me was so welcoming and pleasant. My technician was very friendly and thorough. Helped obtain my previous images from out of state so I could get my visit results ASAP. Highly recommend. Great customer service.

The birthing center staff went above and beyond to ensure my experience was the best! I received the best care I could have possibly received!! Shout out to the nurses who took care of us are Allyssa, April, Elana, Cassie, Haley, Alexis, Kathy, Teneisha and Caroline. The OR staff was amazing and helped me remain calm through the procedure.

The nursing staff on the 5th floor is awesome. They really took care of me and I felt like they had empathy for how I was feeling. Also Luke in the ER was a very nice and caring nurse. Thanks so much for all you'll done to get me back to good health. Queen Boyd
