Diabetes & Glandular Disease Clinic

I recently had an office visit and overall it was a very positive experience. Dr. Purewall was excellent—thorough, attentive, and took the time to answer all of my questions. I felt heard and well cared for during my appointment. The phlebotomist was also wonderful—professional, kind, up beat and made the lab work process quick and comfortable. The only downside to my visit was the check-in experience. The person at the front desk check was not very “chipper.” First impressions matter, so a warmer welcome would have made the experience even better. That said, the quality of care from the medical staff was outstanding, and I truly appreciate their professionalism and compassion.

Very well organized, from the moment you walk in there are plenty of receptionist at the front desk so people waiting in line moves quickly. Blood work area is clean and also well organized and the workers engage with the clients. Dr. Purwell has to be the coolest Dr. I have ever encountered. She talks to you like a friend but is professional and allows you to ask questions. Robin Butcher is also amazing and overall very well run clinic.

I visited the Diabetes & Glandular Disease Clinic in San Antonio in early February and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The staff was thorough and professional throughout the entire process, especially during the lab work. Their attention to detail and clear communication helped me feel confident in the accuracy of my results. Dr. Ghanta provided outstanding care. He took the time to explain my treatment plan, review my follow‑up results, and answer all of my questions in a way that was easy to understand. I never felt rushed, and I appreciated his willingness to address each concern with patience and clarity. Overall, the clinic demonstrated a high level of expertise and professionalism. I left feeling well‑informed and supported in managing my health.

I have worked with Dr. Akhrass and his staff for many years! Also, his nurse practitioner, Tina Copple. I know that the way the office works as far as drawing labs and getting vitals feels a little like a “cattle call”, it works. For as many patients as they have walk through their clinic on a daily basis, 99% of the time it runs super smooth! Now a personal note about Dr. Akhrass and Tina. They are both very, very knowledgeable and eager to make sure that you’re healthy enough to live your best life. They listen to your feelings and encourage you to do your best. I’m not sure that Dr. Akhrass accepts new patients anymore, but it’s worth a shot to give it a try if you’re looking for a wonderful endocrinologist!

This is the only post I have written a review for, because Dr. Amna Salhin means a lot to me as one of her longtime, loyal patients. She is the most caring professional and dedicated Doctor I have ever had and wish she could be my primary care physician; I mean she is that good. She goes above and beyond the call of duty, by crossing every T, and dotting every I. Brilliant. She will find and let you know more than your PCP and put them in Check. I loved her from the first time I met her. I can most often judge a person's character if they are sincere or not and she most definitely is all that and then some. A very Wonderful Person to have as a Physician in your corner for sure!!!
