Delmar Gardens North

I am leaving this review regarding a family member who was a resident at Delmar Gardens North. My family member has dementia and is part of a very vulnerable population that relies heavily on compassionate and attentive care. During their stay, we experienced a serious and concerning interaction with a CNA named Yolanda. When concerns were raised about my family member’s care, her response and attitude made it clear that the situation was not being taken seriously, conveying a lack of concern for the resident’s well-being. This interaction was alarming and inappropriate for someone entrusted with the care of individuals who cannot fully advocate for themselves. I immediately escalated the issue to management. What a wonderful facility! Mom has been here for over a year. Delmar’s staff and the Pathways staff is so loving and kind. Mom is so well taken care of and I am always notified when something is wrong. I truly feel like we are part of the Delmar Gardens family. I am thankful for all their smiles and hugs.

I'm writing a review on behalf of my mom who was there her name is Louise. She tells me an employee named Hortense ran her into something while she was in her wheelchair because she was running(literally running) my mom to her room. She also hit her leg on the table when putting her under the table(while she was in her wheelchair). My mom did have some people who were very nice to her such as Austin, LaDonna, Chris and Donald. I'm only giving three stars because of those that were kind and caring towards her. You CAN NOT be in this job unless you truly have the patience and a love for those that can't help themselves.

My father came to Delmar Gardens North b/c he was terminally ill and would be placed on hospice. From the time I took the tour of this facility until his passing on 7/19 the staff took such good care of my father. He was nothing short of comfortable, clean, and cared for by both the staff at Delmar Gardens and Pathways hospice. My father was at peace as if he was sleeping when I arrived to say my final goodbyes. I will always be appreciative of Delmar Gardens and Pathways for their kindness towards me and my family in our time of need. Thank you so much again.

The physical therapy services and in-house Dr. here ARE very good but the same can’t be said for the response of the nursing staff. I asked several nurses/staff repeatedly for test results and was told they’d get back to me. They NEVER did!! UPON ADMISSION they claimed to offer barber and podiatry services. I asked repeatedly for them to shave my dad and in the three weeks he was there he never had a shave. Also never had a shower! They did give him a soak/bath twice. Then, to top the whole miserable experience off, my dad buzzed the nurse one night to take him to the bathroom, she never came so he tried to take himself and fell and broke his hip. He was sent home with it and we weren’t informed. He passed 5 days later. The experience here at Delmar Gardens North was nothing short of frust
