Dell Children's Medical Center - Rehabilitation

Our visit was wonderful. The staff is always nice and helpful but I did try to call back the same day to get more details about an inpatient hospital stay for my daughter and I still have not received a phone call back.... I wish I had gotten the info while I was there but I just wasn't sure we needed to do it until I spoke with her regular physical therapy people. They think it would be a good idea as long as the inpatient rehab facility has prosthetic experience. I also want to know how a day would look for a 2 and 1/2-year-old at an inpatient facility..... But again I have not been called back to be able to ask these questions.

Dr. Lara and his team were exceptional. His Nurse was so amazing and understanding. Dr. Lara did not rush through the appointment and he truly listened to what we needed. He’s an amazing doctor.

I wish I could give Dell Children’s inpatient therapy team more than 5 stars. They truly became like family to us and made a life-changing difference for my daughter, who entered after losing mobility in her lower half. When she first came from the PICU, she was scared and unsure, but the team showed so much patience, kindness, and encouragement. They never rushed her and always made her feel safe, supported, and celebrated. My daughter worked closely with Paloma, Jossalyn, and Ann Marie, but the entire team including Jamie, Molly, Dr. Lara, and Dr. Bosque was absolutely wonderful. Each of them played an important role in her recovery, and we will never forget the impact they’ve had on our lives. We are forever grateful for their care and dedication.

Meet with Dr. Allan Lara. I'd recommend him. He is very invested and visual in explaining medical terms. He is very energetic and excellent with my daughter. He noticed what was needed, asked questions and immediately started referrals and making appointments needed for my child. She needs therapy and as you know it takes from 6months or more to get word for availability. With Dr. Allan and also Ian, he was able to directly speak with the company directly for her disability and make it happen. In less than a week!!!.. meeting with him, I am starting her first therapy evaluation and getting her speech and physical therapy. So I'm very happy with the help and urgency from the medical crew, the clerks, and doctors and nurses for making this happen as soon as possible. Not only is she getting
