Crossroads Care Center

My mom was admitted right before Thanksgiving. Mom wanted to be in her own home with me and our dog whom she loved very much. I asked them if Bailey could visit and they said anytime. I brought several times and I think my moms last few weeks helped a lot. They took excellent care of her and they made sure I was okay. The activities they have were fun and enjoyable. The nursing staff along with Heartland Hospice couldn't of done more for her and myself. When the end was here, they made sure she was comfortable, every 2 hrs. they would reposition her body and the nurses came in often to make sure she wasn't suffering. The care they showed me that weekend was amazing, they made sure we had privacy by moving out her roommate. They brought a cart full of beverages and snacks. The nurse that sh

This was my third stay at Manorcare East. My mom was also here. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've always gotten great care and rehab here even when I was cranky. If any of my family needed skilled nursing this is where they'd go. First time I was here was 3 years ago and then again a year ago. This last stay was about a month. It's also very nice they have a contract with the VA.

This is the worst place to send a family member. My dad was there for one night and almost a full day. He has a feeding tube, a trach, and oxygen. They didn't have correct hookups for oxygen, left him to use a trash can for a toilet because he could not use bathroom on his own with being hooked up to oxygen and feeding tube. One nurse acted like she was on some sort of medicine or something, totally hyper and all over the place, she followed me out the front door of the building, lit a cigarette and talked about being so stressed and how she is totally done. I will never allow a family member to be cared for at this place. Dogs are treated better at an animal shelter. Very disappointing experience.

I'm sorry but this place does not deserve a full star. My roommate has been there and still is with the hope that he is in the best wound rehab center that deals with wounds and wound vacuums. Tell me why then he has not had a proper wound vac that does not act up?? Nursing staff seem to be stretched out way too thin and feel the need to speak and act however they want. Can anybody else tell me that cottage cheese and peaches is a proper dinner time meal??? I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This is not a place for your family to receive proper care. My grandma has been there for a while now, and I always have to spend the first 45 minutes to an hour cleaning up her room and helping her change her filthy, stained clothes. Why should this be something I have to do? Isn't that the care that is supposed to be provided to her? Laundry is never done, and her sheets smell of urine. When I go there, it is my goal to spend as much time with her during the little time I do have left with her. It's hard for me to leave her there knowing the lack of care she is receiving.
