CityMD Clark Urgent Care - New Jersey

Desk staff were welcoming and nice, only reason for the 2 stars. When I got in the room to see the doctor, Dr Patel came in within 3 minutes. I came in for a sinus infection which I explained to him a lot of times can turn into bronchitis or pneumonia for me. I told him that I’m beginning to cough up mucus and have been extremely run down, and was working for the last 2 days so was only able to get in today. He was in the room for less than 2 minutes, and told the attending nurse what to prescribe me and sent me on my way saying feel better. I left to go to my car and realized that I forgot to ask for a Dr note for work for the following day, as knowing myself I would not feel fully better working the next day as I also work in a very public setting. I am giving 3 stars with one GIANT caveat. All the staff here are extremely helpful and professional. But there is one doctor here, Dr. Patel, who is straight dangerous. Last year he misdiagnosed my wife's pneumonia - told her it's just a cold even though it was clearly showing on x-rays as pneumonia - and she ended up being admitted to the hospital a few days later and was there for a week on an antibiotic drip. She almost lost part of her lung in what would have probably been completely preventable if Dr. Patel paid any attention to his patients. I later found out he is the same doctor who recently saw my young daughter and prescribed a rather strong medicine for her, one that I had been subscribed in the past. Brought my son in for ear pain. Doctor said his ears were fine. Next day went to pediatrician and he has a severe ear infection. How can you miss something so basic? Don’t know where they get their degrees from. Go elsewhere.

DR.PATEL is very condescending and needs training in patient care. I do not ever want to see him again. When you speak to patients you need to learn how to speak in a way that doesn't denote pride and that makes the patient feel bad. He is very dismissive and was too busy talking instead of asking more questions. It felt very rushed and then he just left the room without saying a word. I am extremely dissatisfied with my care.

I was sent here by my employer to investigate a potential frost bite injury to my hand while at work. My finger tips touched cold metal pans for an extended period of time inside of a hard blast chiller area and I experienced swelling and then numbness in the finger tips and sensitivity to temperature afterwards. Following these symptoms, the skin on my fingertips started to peel off. That’s when I saw Dr. Patel. He looked at my hand for all of about 2 seconds. He was very dismissive and flat out said that my symptoms weren’t connected to a work place injury as if I was making up my injury.
