CHOP Pediatric Urgent Care, Bucks County

We had a horrible experience at the urgent care. Our 5 month old had labored breathing and we were told the wait would be 2 hours. I understand it is not an emergency room but there should be some sort of priority for babies who are struggling. We were in the waiting room for an hour followed by another hour of sitting waiting for a doctor to come in. Our doctor was very nice but the overall experience was enough for us to never want to return to this location!!!

Against my better judgement I went to CHOP Chalfont for my 5 year old with asthma. I have been an asthma mom for over 15 years, and usually go to CHOP KOP because they are extremely thorough/knowledgeable regarding asthma. The doctor on call today was not listening to what I was saying at all. He instead gave me advice to increase her maintenance inhaler to 3x a day versus prescribing an oral steroid. As her mom I am well aware what her pattern is and what is normal sounding for her and what’s not. The visit did not sit right with me. After being home and administering symbicort and albuterol with no change, I took her to a different doctor, they agreed she is definitely wheezing with crackling (he said she wasn’t at CHOP but the nurse said she was) and not responding to her current plan.

When I left this urgent care without even being discharged, I was irate. Like fuming mad but the staff and nurse was courteous and professional so I left without causing a scene or being rude, just left quietly. My almost 4 son had something lodge in his throat eating dinner, after patting his back for a few mins I knew I had to stick my finger in his throat cause he was screaming in pain and yelling mommy get it out. I got him to vomit and luckily whatever was lodged had come out. I was in a panic so I didnt even dig thru the vomit to see what it could have been. All I saw was fresh blood. Like what you would see when your gums are bleeding and you spit in the sink. I recently visited CHOP Pediatrics Urgent Care and was very impressed. The facility was spotless, which made me feel comfortable and confident about the care my child would receive. We were seen promptly, and the staff was both professional and compassionate. The whole process—from check-in to discharge—was smooth and efficient. I truly appreciate the excellent service and would not hesitate to return if needed.

Went in April so my son could get staples. The experience was horrible. From the desk person who was rude and I repeatedly told had the wrong address and email address which she never updated, to the care staff who rushed the treatment, refused to give him any local numbing meds and then I had to ask for ice while they tried to explain discharge instructions ( while my son was screaming in pain). To make it even worse, because I never received any bills due to them never updating my info, my bill was sent to collections. I highly recommend going to another facility.
