Chilton Medical Center : Radiology

I had my first MRI yesterday, at Chilton. I have some social anxiety and have not heard great things about the hospital. Frankly, I went in with low expectations. Wow..I was so pleasantly surprised! Natalia did my intake at reception, and had me seated comfortably right away. She was pleasant and clearly competent, and went out of her way to assure my comfort. Go Natalia! 🙌🏼 Mauricio (apologies if I am not spelling his name correctly) came to fetch me after a short wait, had me set up for the MRI, and explained what would happen. He was also competent, kind, and very considerate. I’m so grateful. Thank you for making an appointment I had been dreading turn out to be so pleasant! I had heard through one of my medical team members that Atlantic health was revamping Chilton. They appear to b

My old back injury flared up causing me massive pain, so my chiropractor needed me to get a lumbar x-ray to see how badly my spine had moved. Chilton is in my medical plan, so I didn’t have to worry about any costs. Considering how painful it is right now to sit, stand, lay down, or anything, I was not looking forward to the expected long, what would be a painful, wait. Turns out, I should not even had sat down. By the time I suffered through sitting in the waiting room chair, the x-ray technician called my name. 10 minutes later I was done. As an IT guy, I’m more and more impressed with how Atlantic Health uses technology to give easy access of my information to the different doctors who need to see it.

I was greeted by a wonderful young lady, all went well, then was cared for by Danielle, just a wonderful Radiologist with lots of patience and knowledge. Danielle was actually one of the few people that can get my vein in one shot.

I have had two MRI's at Chilton. I am giving 3 stars because the people there were very nice and professional however I would recommend that anyone considering having an MRI done there shop around a bit. My imaging cost $9,000 before insurance (ended up paying $3,600 out of pocket) and I recently found out I can have the same test done at an imaging center for $650 before insurance!!! Goodbye Chilton!!!
