CHI St. Vincent North

I went to the St. Vincent ER in Sherwood on a snow day. The wait wasn't long and the doctor (Kara) was very thorough and nice. I can appreciate the printed information about my condition and the fact that I was given my first doses of medication for treatment at the hospital so I could start treatment immediately. Great job St. Vincent.

If I could've given zero stars, that would have been too many for my experience at this hospital. The only reason I'm even giving a review is the fact that my nurse was very kind and understanding. The lady that checks you in was rude and just plain hateful. There were two of them back in the cubicle and they were being really nasty and ignorant about the paperwork. Talking to me like I was stupid and tried to get me to sign the wrong name on my papers. So, i, in turn, matched their energy. The doctor that was on call was very rude and would not listen to anything I was trying to explain. I went in with a rash/blisters/allergic reaction and he gave me flexeril and diclofenac muscle relaxers to go home with. What? Can't think of who the triage nurse was, or the doctor but I will forever remember that awesome human JC.....much love to them. But also the nurse and doctor on call was amazing too. Yes, they take forever and yes they will see you depending on what your symptoms are, stop complaining......its a freaking ER.

This would be a five star except for dietary. I understand that food cannot have a lot of salt or oils in it in a hospital setting. But there are many other spices involved that will not spike blood pressure or other instances of health problems. Maybe someone needs to explain to them that they exist. Also, the fact that it takes them so very long from the time they leave dietary to get to each floor is ridiculous. The food is always cold by the time it comes up and if you make a special order because you have no desire at all to have what they’ve offered on their special menu it is more than likely going to be incorrect. I love the doctors here, I love the nurses here, I despise dietary here.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. My child broke his arm and the ER nurse tried to give him an X-ray without pain medication, moving and twisting his broken arm all around, while he is screaming and crying. She then proceeded to act as if I was crazy for addressing the fact that she must be lacking in empathy to continue this behavior without giving any pain management. I've had other family members come here to the ER and have been treated horribly. The nurses and doctors truly act as if they could care less about patients, actively talking bad about patients OUT LOUD at the nurses desk where the whole hallway could hear them, talking badly about their appearance, mental health, etc. Not only are they talking poorly about patients' cases in detail in such a loud manner (to wh
