I went in for my newborns (12/10/2025weighed 6lbs3.8oz) first Dr appointment on Friday 12/12 weighed 5lbs12oz the LPN told us she lost a lot of weight and that we needed to do a weight check by Monday the 14th (12/15) side note* my milk had not fully come in yet until the 13th! Anyways when Monday came I was extremely sick, I am a cancer patient, I’ve got seizures, high blood pressure and felt really sick that day. I needed rest so I slept and did not go to the appointment for the weight check and btw I have 3 other kids that have all lost the same amount of weight by the time I’ve left the hospital and once I gained my milk supply they gained it right back and more so I WAS NOT WORRIED. It's tough getting seen by a doctor these days, but waiting over two months for an appointment is a bit much , then when you do get an appointment, it's as if the time was just arbitrary. My doctor at CMG at Southside has been great. But he must be in high demand. My last two encounters at this clinic have been horrific. First, I had a routine lab appointment that was scheduled first thing in the morning. I arrived, got called to the registration within 10 minutes and then sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes waiting to get called to the lab. When I asked about it, the receptionist said that I should be called shortly. I waited another 7 minutes and had to go to another appointment. I've heard a lot of bad things about Centra but I actually had a great experience. Called early Saturday morning and got an appointment by noon, was promptly received, got a quick Strep diagnosis, and went directly to CVS to pick up antibiotics. All the staff was friendly and kind - especially Mike and Sasha. Maybe it just depends on the time you call/what staff are available?

I wish 0 was an option. An hour after the appointment the nurse took vitals, didn't see anyone for an hour and decided to leave none of the nurses were surprised or tried to stop me. They acted like it happens regularly. If they're understaffed, I understand, but why keep scheduling people and make them wait. The appointment was 3 hours after I went in the first time.

After being on hold for over 45 minutes, (I called at 6:30 pm & they close at 8) while I was at work, to see if I could be seen, they never answered my call. I walked in the door still on hold at 7:50- I decided to leave and head there because I knew that since I was on hold with them, they would understand and see me. Nope. The receptionist laughed at me. How was I supposed to know you take the last person at 7:40. I was ON HOLD FOR AN HOUR waiting to see if I could be seen, so I wouldn’t waste my time. Shocker, y’all made me waste my time. Then she assumed I don’t work tomorrow and I can just mosey on in here at 8am. I came to the URGENT clinic for a REASON. Now I see why you have 2 stars.
