Blackstone Valley Medicine

I am finally getting the care I have been seeking for years. I had the same primary care for 20 years and felt like I was not heard and never got to the root problem of my issues. I can honestly say that is quite opposite at this practice. I feel so fortunate to have Dr. Chece as my Dr. They all seem to be wonderful and caring and I have had more results & received excellent care in the short time I have been their patient. I appreciate everyone that works in that office.

After Anchor Medical suddenly closed its doors, I had to scramble to find a Primary Care Doctor for my family and me. I randomly selected Dr. John Chece at Blackstone Valley Medicine mainly because there was an ad in the Valley Breeze advertising “new patients welcome.” I feel as though I won the lottery in terms of procuring such an amazing doctor! I have been accompanying my elderly father to several appointments since April and Dr. Chece has provided the very best care and consultations. He has a warm and caring presence during the exams and makes you feel like YOU are his number one most important patient of the day- despite his large case load. I am a new patient and my first appointment went great. Doctor was great, personable, and took his time to talk and understand my medical history and any concerns, etc. Taking off two stars since so far for the second month in a row it has been difficult to get prescriptions filled on time. I've messaged the doctor directly 3 days before my refill was needed based on his recommendation and still the refill was never sent in. I then attempted to send a refill request via their online patient portal and it doesn't seem like that is being checked either as Rx refill still wasn't processed. I then called the prescription in and left a voicemail, and still no results until a couple phone calls later. Dr Chece has been amazing… my other primary retired and I needed to look for another primary and I am so happy that I found Dr. Chece. At every appointment I have never felt rushed he listens to every concern and question he is truly genuine and I feel so fortunate that I found him and this practice. I have transferred both of my children and my husband to this practice.

Followed my NP when he moved here. Probably never going back. Went in for kidney stone pain, looking for some sort of pain management or course of action. They said I should go to the ER (I'd already been to urgent care and had an xRay confirming I have a kidney stone), but I preferred for them to schedule a CTscan so we could go from there and avoid an ER trip. They said they'd get back to me to schedule it. They claimed they had to have my insurance approve it first. Other than that, they offered nothing in the way of pain management or testing. It's been over a month and I've heard 0 about my CTscan request, they haven't answered any of my messages in the patient portal regarding the issue... Just absymal.
