Bartlett Regional Hospital

I'm very grateful that the people at Bartlett are here in Juneau to provide top-notch modern healthcare in a remote area like Southeast Alaska. I had a total hip replacement done and every individual that I dealt with showed caring and professionalism on a level I really didn't expect. I don't mean I expected negative outcomes, I mean they really are a top-notch team of caregivers. I have encountered the opposite so I know the difference. Dr. Brown and his surgical team, the doctors, nurses, and techs that work in med surgery, the anesthesiologists, the physical therapists, the CNAs, scheduling and intake, they all worked together seamlessly to get my surgery done, and it's something that I've needed for years. Well Husband had to come to Barlett for pneumonia. Emergency was quick had him up in a room fast. I thought we'd be er all night but nope. The 3rd floor Doctors, Nurses CNAs and Housekeepers was all amazing caring individuals with hearts of gold. The food has improved 1000% since last time Husband was in here. The only little complaint is the towels need to be bigger. Overall it's been a positive stay. Thank you Bartlett for caring for our community.

All of the staff were awesome except for the dr I had Abigail Mary king, ANP. She seemed sincere when listening and I felt like I was being heard. I went in for dizziness and a bad rash. She ordered blood test and a CT and finally determined I had some kind of inner ear issue causing the dizziness. She gave me some meds to help me sleep and an antihistamine for the rash. She also gave some instructions with some exercises that might help the inner ear issues. Also told me to get an itch cream for the rash. Unfortunately neither one helped. Told me to follow up with a local doctor if it didn’t get better. I explained to her that that I don’t live here and don’t have a local dr but that did not seem to make a difference. Dr Brooks did a fantastic job listening to my concerns as well as the other staff from front desk check in all the way to discharge time. Everybody involved were very nice and informative.

We had a great experience here. The nurses, CNA's, and doctors were all friendly and professional. The doctor even took the time to show us x-rays and explain what was happening. Being from out of town, we were not familiar with the area, and the nurses made sure we were taken care of with food and lodging. They helped make a bad situation a little better.
