Avamere Rehabilitation at Park West

My fiance is in avanere park West I have called this place several times to see how she is doing the phone rang and rang no answer and when I finally reached someone I get I can't hear you can you please call back from someone that does not speak English well very frustrating God help us if I was to have a emergency situation I would be in a little trouble there not being able to reach my loved one and they put her in one of there facilities that is 50 + miles from my home and I do not have a car very inconsiderate of a patients family I've left messages at 2 nurses station and the third station the mail box was full I really hope there treatment is better than their customer service which I give it a 2 star rating .

My cousin was here for a short stay. The staff seemed compassionate and attentive. Seemed like they had fun activities for the residents, however she was most impressed with the rehab team.

We were shocked by the lack of care. The doctor listened to my friend’s lungs every day but never looked at her wounds. The nurses didn’t know what to do with the drains. The food was horrible and there was not enough staff on duty. The rooms are horrendous and it smells badly in the hallway. When we had a little tour some days before our friend was admitted, they told us total lies and made sure we didn’t get to the smelly part. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here.

I was lucky to have chosen Avamere Park West to complete my rehab. I spent 4 weeks at Vancouver General Hospital in Canada recovering after an accident and surgery on both knees. I transferred to Park West to continue my recovery and relearn how to walk. The staff was wonderful and I felt safe from day one. Thanks to the wonderful physical and occupational therapists that worked with me, I improved quickly such that I could go home after a month. It was very clear that the CNAs and nurses caring for me on a daily basis really take their work seriously and care about the patients. Overall the staff is top notch.

The rehab folks and all the staff were wonderful. I got from barely able to stanf to walking a half mile in three weeks!
