I went to Duke Urgent Care in late July 2020 for a head injury incurred from fainting in my garage after shopping in hot and humid weather. I waited one day after the injury to be checked out and helped. My nurse Tonya Wall was wonderful and showed me kindness removing the caked blood from the back of my head. All was well until Dr. Mikell showed up. Her bedside manner was terrible and she treated me like a criminal and basically interrogated me about what happened. She had a cold stare and was just unfeeling to me. I left feeling awful and I was feeling pretty bad already. This is not what I expected from Duke and I have been a patient for almost 16 years with Dr. Glover as my PCP who has treated me for a multitude of difficulties. I agree, she has a horrible bedside manner. If she has experience in peds it did not show. She is not a provider who allows you to be involved in your own health care decisions. I love the urgent care I go to, have been going there for years and haven't had an issue before, if we get assigned her again in the future I will either wait for the next available provider or go to another urgent care. Horrible doctor, no idea how she made it into Duke.

WARNING! Price gouging! My daughter felt ill. Took her to Urgent Care with this doctor. COVID test negative; Strep test negative. Diagnosis: a virus. Total bill: $779

Thorough history, appropriate treatment. Did a great job for me today.
