I want to start off by saying that we have loved seeing Amy here! She is great, non judgemental, and super helpful as first time parents. The nurses have all been fantastic as well. However, we've consistently had issues with communications and the front desk. They are rude, unorganized, and put blame on anyone but themselves. There is one lady who seems to be upper staff that isn't terrible and perhaps just trying to have her staffs backs, but everyone else is rude and cold, which is the last thing a pediatric office should be. They will call you about issues with your appointment as your on the way to them. Which is just unacceptable. We have a great relationship with the doctors and staff here! Doctors and nurses are great responding via the app for any number of concerns. Doctors saw my daughter through a tough couple of years in middle school. I am so thankful.

This is a long review, but after three years of experiencing poor services I feel it’s important to share my experience. I’ve been bringing my daughter to Amherst Pediatrics since she was born, and we never had a single issue . Since Dr. Hickman retired, things have gone downhill noticeably. Our first interaction with the new doctor wasn’t the best, but I still tried to give the practice a fair chance. Unfortunately, the past two years have been extremely frustrating. They cancelled my daughter’s annual physical 2024 and 2025 (scheduled a full year in advance). Both times, I had already taken time off from work and arranged everything around those appointment. One cancellation was blamed on a “schedule conflict,” and the other on the doctor’s personal reasons. Following their instructions,

We were very disappointed with our experience at this office. We were given inaccurate and misleading information about how certain diseases are spread and how common they are, which undermined our trust in the care being provided. We also encountered significant resistance when discussing our vaccination preferences. We requested to skip one vaccine and delay others, hoping to have a respectful, collaborative conversation. Instead, one physician refused to work with us and stated that we would be escorted off the premises if we did not follow their exact vaccine schedule. This approach felt coercive rather than patient-centered and left us feeling unheard and uncomfortable. We value medical guidance, but we also believe shared decision-making and respectful communication are essential.

We’ve had nothing but great experiences with Amherst Pediatrics. The office staff, nurses and doctors always remember my kids and one even remembered the name of my son’s favorite stuffed animal! Everyone is pleasant and the care we receive is great!
