Monika helped me to give birth to our daughter at home on October 15th 2025. I am a South Korean, and it is very uncommon to give a home birth let alone a water birth. It became my longing to experience one, and she made it come true. She was like a mother to me, gently and calmly speaking life to me over and over, "You are doing a good job" as if I was a champ at giving birth 🤣. I cannot say enough good things about the support Monika and Joyell provided me during my home birth especially because it was the first time I had met either of them (my midwife was at another delivery). I’ve mentioned several times how Monika has a special skill of creating a supporting environment and vibe within minutes of meeting. Throughout my delivery she suggested different positions, provided comfort and affirmation on my progress. When I was at the transition point, and really questioning my decision, she continued to assure me that I was doing a great job and that I was almost there. I was 19 weeks pregnant when I first reached out to Monika, & we talked back & forth up until I was 24 weeks before I set something up to be a patient of hers. She was very patient & understanding of everything, she worked with me from the very beginning. I knew once we had our first conversation that I wanted her to birth my baby. Although our time together wasn't for the full 9 months, Monika became just like family. I trusted her, she always made me feel comfortable, & she always tried to work with me as far as scheduling of appointments. If I had to do it all over again I'd choose Monika every time! I can not say enough about the quality of care I was given by Monika during and after my pregnancy. This is what bringing a human into this world should be like. Before I found her, I had started my care with large medical group. Each visit I felt like one of a heard of cattle. When I spoke up about not wanting to get the flu shot I was treated like a villain and was actually told that I could be putting my unborn child at risk. It was horrible. Then I found Monika and it was a completely different experience. I wanted this pregnancy to be about honoring my growing child and also about the transformation I was making into a new mother. Monika made every interaction about that. She carries with her a sacred grace and wisdom, a tender and fierce heart, And a wealth of experience and kn
