Allure of Quad Cities

Overall this is a horrible place to recover after leaving the hospital. This is regarding nurses and their assistants, and does not reflect other staff who are good although too busy to manage nurses and assistants. Wolves are running the place when they aren't watching, two in particular. They get a two star for having at least two good nurses. How would you want your mother treated? That's how all patients should be treated.The following is a list of actual experiences I've had at Allure this past few days. Wrong dinners, someone else's name was on it. Food late cold, failures to prepare patients ahead of meals arriving. The food is horrible. You are better off bringing food in for yourself. This place is terrible! After all the administrators and DON they are still struggling with staffing the facility. I wouldn’t put my loved one in this facility if it was FREE.

My family and I just put my grandfather in this facility for health reasons. The staff is very welcoming and very supportive with everybody. The residents at this place also seem to be very happy and are very friendly. You don’t even know it’s a nursing home when you arrive at how clean the facility is.

I wanted to give a shout out, many thanks and Kudos to the Nursing staff!!! They take such great care of my Mom Irene. They are so dedicated, kind and knowledgeable. Autumn is someone I see almost every time I visit! She is sharp, dedicated and very helpful!! She is always on top of things and provides great leadership and support to the staff and others!.She is approachable, helpful, patient and a True Advocate for patients and their families! My grandfather has been placed in hospice less than a week ago with an NPO meaning that he can not have food by mouth. This is how he came into the hospice center and everyone was aware on 6/19. My grandfather has had a great nurse for most of his stay. Unfortunately, last night he was given food and left in his room. He was found later by a visitor (who was not supposed to be allowed back into his room might I add) with mashed potatoes on his lips. Once addressed, the social worker on duty Deana advised us that we were making the “wrong” decision even though my grandfather has made his wishes very clear. When asked how safe it is for an NPO patient to have food and choke to death, Deana said “Well, he is on hospice isn’t he?” I feel this was very unprofessional and inconsiderate as well
