After 24 years as a loyal patient, I am beyond disappointed in how I was treated by the front desk staff at Alamo Heights Pediatrics. I arrived 12 minutes late to an appointment due to traffic on I-35—something completely out of my control. I am consistently early to appointments and have spent years waiting well past scheduled times without complaint. Instead of being met with understanding or even basic professionalism, I was immediately met with attitude and told I owed $25 for being late. I refused to pay the fee, not out of entitlement, but because of the complete lack of compassion and the accusatory way it was handled. I’ve been taking my son here since he was born and I had zero issues until recently. My son has always been seen by NURSE PRACTITIONER Lauren. There was a little incident right before Christmas where me and the office manager Nicole had a lil back and forth over the phone, nothing too major no cursing , no threats just a frustrated mom and a dominant office manger. Cool ! I go back in January for the next appt and I said I’m here for my son the new skinny Hispanic girl in the front the front responds by saying “ yeaaah “ . Red flag ; i ignore it and carry on with the appointment.. No issues ! So here comes 2/13/26 I have to take my son back cause he’s is feeing sick I call make an appointment set a time everything is good. I just happened to check my mail and I get a letter from Alamo heig

(Front desk needs work), the new lady answering phone and handling check-Ins needs to work on her customer service skills regarding 'inclusivity'. I find her selectively empathic, Abrasive and disconnected with the patient and Practitioner dynamic. She behaves more like a security guard rather than a receptionist. I told her my son had a temperature over 100 for more then 72 hours and she was Dismissive and minimized my concerns stating "I will take your message and see if they can get to you". Notwithstanding, the actual medical staff is awesome (Dr. Irvin and Nicole) made sure I was able to take proper care of my son.

My husband and I love this pediatrics! Dr. Irvin is the sweetest, so kind and explains everything with full details. She takes her time and takes very good care of our child. I appreciate the follow ups from her staff just to check in to see how things are going. Definitely recommend! We’re first time parents, we were nervous about finding a good pediatrician and we couldn’t be more pleased.

This is the best pediatric group in San Antonio! I was forced to try several pediatricians due to changes in insurance for the first few years after I had my kiddos. We drive 20 min out of our way for this one and it’s worth it. The staff remembers my name, all my kids names, and I can tell they truly care about the well-being of my kids. They are always smiling and kind mannered. We see Lorin (but we have seen every provider over the past two years when it’s been a last minute sickness and Lorin is unavailable and EVERYONE is so great!) I’ve always felt welcomed, heard, and cared for. Never rushed out or hurried like I have at other places.
