ABCD Pediatrics - Schertz

I found ABCD Pediatrics because my previous pediatrician joined their practice, and I wanted my son to continue seeing the same doctor. However, at our first visit, we were scheduled with a different Family Nurse Practitioner due to their Saturday staffing. I have always tried to be consistent and ensure my son sees the same physician at each visit. My son is currently 13 months old and has attended every scheduled checkup and received all his vaccinations, as far as I was aware. At his 12-month appointment, I was informed that he was behind on a booster shots, which I had never been told before. I was also told that he has “retractile testis.” I don’t understand why this is only now being mentioned after he has already turned one year old. Why wasn’t this brought up at an earlier visit? A

The staff at this practice creates a hostile and unwelcoming environment, including the physician who was scheduled to see my son. Intake information is repeatedly not recorded in the system, which leads to the same questions being asked at every visit. When I respond, my answers are often met with criticism or with my parenting decisions being questioned in a way that feels disrespectful and unnecessary. As a parent, I expect a healthcare environment where I feel supported and confident in the care my child receives. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience here. Aside from Dr. Flowers—who is no longer with the practice—every appointment has left me feeling uneasy and uncomfortable. This place is constantly cancelling appointments the day of and never answers the phone. Nine times out of 10, the front desk workers are rude, act inconvinenced with your presence or as if they’re better than. My daughter has been visiting this place since she was a newborn, she had to do three separate newborn screenings (3 different appointments which nobody has time for) because somebody kept losing them ( Whether it was someone in the office or someone after pick up is not really relevant, find a new third-party to pick up the tests so our children don’t have to keep going through getting poked over and over ). On her two month checkup, they had concerns with how rapidly her head was growing (I promise it looks like a normal baby head), and then said that somebody probably messed u

They have nice staff and the times that I’ve needed to schedule a last minute appt because my kids are sick, they have been able to squeeze them in. Very thankful for that. The only think that I didn’t like was the mas didn’t let me held my 2 year old and instead had her lying down the bed. As a health care worker myself I understand but I also understand that is the parent preference depending on how confident they feel holding their kids down. My baby had a traumatizing experience and this was not very pleasant for her. They did an awesome job vaccinated them so I was very pleased with the service provided other than that.

We’ve been going to ABCD Pediatrics for the past 13 years, and we’ve never once been disappointed! The two ladies at the front desk are always in a great mood, friendly, and willing to help in any way they can. Every single doctor we’ve seen has been absolutely amazing — kind, knowledgeable, and caring. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional pediatric care!
