Willamette Dental - Lincoln City

I’ve been going to Willamette Dental for at least ten years, long enough to watch multiple cycles of dentists and hygienists come and go. Over time, the quality of service and professionalism has noticeably declined. During my most recent visit on 2/16, I was assigned a different hygienist than the one I’d grown accustomed to. For years, I had the same person and had gotten used to their approach, but this time the experience was very different. She began with periodontal probing, which was quite painful and caused bleeding. That part isn’t unusual, especially since the insurance and the company only allow a yearly cleaning instead of every six months. Excellent dental care! My new patient appointment was the next day after calling post switching dental plans, not months away as I was expecting. The exam was thorough and consistent with my former dentist in AZ, the cleaning equally thorough and well done, and all staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and hard working. I am not an easy patient. My dental situation is complicated. I am usually in pain when I come in the office. The ladies in this office are amazing. They are kind and took such good care of me. They are patient and genuinely want to help people feel better. They are amazing with kids and teenagers! I bring all 4 of my boys in for their dentist appointments as well. Every time it has been a great experience. Thank you very much.

As others have mentioned, the dentists and hygienists are phenomenal. The reception/office personnel need a serious attitude adjustment. This morning when I was late, the young lady with long dark hair snapped at me and made rude comments when I tried to explain to her what happened, referring to my explanation as a "story" as if I was making it up. I wasn't, and to be treated so rudely as a patient was kind of mind boggling. Is it so hard to say "I'm sorry to hear that, unfortunately we will have to reschedule" in a neutral tone of voice? It's not. Not unless you have the bad habit of taking your bad days out on random members of the public, which seems to be the case every time I have interacted with her. I have never had a positive, or even neutral, experience with the young woman. She
