Weirton Medical Center: Emergency Room

DO NOT GO! Staff doesn't even pretend to care. They carelessly handle patients. While drawing blood a nurse gave me nerve damage.

Chad and Shantelle were absolutely terrific. Chad explained everything succinctly and compassionately frequently reevaluating me to see how I was doing. Shantelle delivered my medications and treated me like I was family throughout the entirety of my ED course. Very thankful for having these caregivers to help me in my time of need.

This place is the worst hospital in the tri-state area. If you don't have the right name. They will not take care of you properly. We called several times about my grandmother, cause she was supposed to get released. They rudely told us that she wasn't. Few hours later my grandma calls crying. Saying she been waiting there for several hours for someone to come get her, and that she just wants to go home. Had the whole family upset!

By far the best ER experience we've ever had. At first, the place seems a little run down and the people at the front desk were a little off putting. I was nervous but we stayed, as we were traveling cross country and didn't know where else to go in our emergency. And we are so glad we stayed. The care and compassion we received from the ER nurses was beyond heartwarming. They were sensitive, caring, and so genuine with our difficult situation. And Dr Luiza was not only the best Dr we've ever encountered in terms of medical service, knowledge, and compassion, but a very genuine and comforting person as well. The way he explained everything in a very compassionate yet informative way made our situation somehow more manageable. I could honestly write reviews about each and every person here,

I had to take my mother to the emergency room on 1/22/22 at Weirton medical emergency room.The nurse that was taking my mom’s information was rude and very impatient with my mom. She instantly started speaking to her very loudly. I told Nurse Black that she isn’t hard of hearing she just needs to get her thought process together. Nurse Black didn’t show any bedside kindness at all but to continue to be rude. When she closed the drape I said to my mom she was very rude. Which I knew she heard this comment. She had the audacity to ask me what I said. Which I told her she was rude. She stated she wasn’t and sorry I felt like that in a condescending way.I wouldn’t want this nurse to treat another elderly person the way she did my mom. I do want to mention kudos to Dr Cygan, Nurse James & Nu
