Walker Family Medicine Benson

I absolutely love my primary NP Alma Pando, but I’m giving a one star review due to the customer service i experienced at the front desk, I had arrived 14 min late due to life occasionally not going the way you plan, I called a few times to say I would be late to see if they would be able to see me, I had gotten no answer, I entered the building and the front desk worker (who’s name I did not get) immediately gave me attitude, she was not helpful, and escalated the situation, she should really find another job that is not customer service based, it’s a Dr office and people arrive with all kinds of things happening in their lives, they really rely on the friendliness of the people working at a Dr office to make them feel welcomed and safe, she was everything but that. This was my first experience with medical care in Benson after moving here recently. I found Dr. Dawn Walker to be professional, thorough, flexible, and warm. I highly recommend her. She supported me in my health goals. Her staff was easy to work with.

Absolutely inconsistent hours, I went there at 2:50pm today (12-3-24) which is a Tuesday (they are only in benson on Tuesdays and Thursdays) and they were closed. I had called the day before to ensure they were going to be in benson and open and they had told me yes. I called them to ask what their hours were in benson and she said that it varies. I asked her why they weren’t consistent and she started throwing an attitude at me about how she didn’t have to deal with this. They’re only in benson 2 times a week and aren’t even consistent with that. Why open a location at all?

I drive from Vail to the Benson office because the excellent care is totally worth a bit of a drive. Tiffany at the front desk greets me with a friendly smile, Denise is friendly and professional and explains each step of the pre-appointment process. Her blood draw skills are excellent. Both NP-C Alma and Dr Walker have seen me. I’ve never felt rushed, as plenty of time was given for any questions I might have. I feel that my health care is truly being overseen with personalized care and I’m feeling better than ever. The payment process is SO easy and convenient as well. Highly recommend this practice.
