Walk-In Care - Horseheads

I went to this location after experiencing mild pain in my groin, which I though was due to possible UTI. The woman at the front desk told me to go the ER and that they would not see me. I explained that I do not have health insurance and this was not an emergency in any sense. She was very rude. Do not recommend.

As someone who has had negative experiences in the past with urgent cares or walk in clinics, I am very weary about going to a walk in clinic when I am sick. The PA who saw me, Sarah Matera, was so friendly, thorough, and listened to all my concerns. She let me explain everything fully with no interruptions, she asked plenty of follow up questions to ensure she understood my situation, and she completed the most thorough exam I have received at a walk in clinic. The nurse and front desk staff I interacted with were equally as friendly and welcoming. Thank you!!

Getting checked in there, so you can get your blood work and labs, X-Rays etc, done takes forever. But not as long as it does to get your actual blood work done. Even If you are the only person in the waiting area, it still seems to take 25 minutes minimum to be seen. If there are other people, it could take upwards of an hour plus. So don't go there if you are in a hurry. Men's bathroom was filthy during my visit. Leaky sink, dirty floor and toilet. I hate giving bad reviews, but it is what it is.

I waited a bit with my two toddlers but that should always be expected for walk in care. We were super sick but the nurses were insanely nice per usual. Rebecca is a great! Tests were quick and easy when my girls had strep. The nurse that did our intake made cute glove balloons to occupy my restless kids. So sweet.

Turned away at 12:27 because they wanted to close at 12:45 but I had already received confirmation before and after this event that they were supposed to be open until 1 o’clock. The people that we walked in behind were taken to the back to seen as they were turning us away.
