This was one of the most frustrating pharmacy experiences I’ve ever had. I went to Walgreens to pick up a prescription I rely on, only to be told by the pharmacy tech that due to a “staff shortage,” they were only prioritizing antibiotics for the day. No apology, no solution, no timeline—just a dismissive explanation as if patients’ other medical needs don’t matter. Medication is not a convenience item. People depend on prescriptions for chronic conditions, mental health, pain management, and other serious issues. Deciding unilaterally that those patients are less important is unacceptable and dangerous. The pharmacy is terrible… steer clear. It takes forever to get ahold of someone on the phone. The drive thru, your waiting forever at. And one time I picked up a liquid prescription for my 2 year old and they didn’t have a syringe in the entire pharmacy. They told me to go to another pharmacy to get one… like are you Forreal?!? I have since switched, but one prescription is only covered at a Walgreens so I need to go there… and I dread when I have to manage/pick up this prescription.
EDIT: it has now been almost an HOUR that I've been on hold to ask one question. I even called the main line and was told they'd contact the pharmacy and have my call picked up immediately. That NEVER happened. Go literally ANYWHERE else if you have the ability! I have been on hold for 20 minutes and counting. This is CONSISTENTLY the case and all I have is one simple question. It is ridiculous that this is the level of customer service. Also, they eventually start picking up and then just putting you on hold without saying ANYTHING. It is infuriating and absolutely unprofessional.
This review is for the Walgreens store, not the pharmacy. I placed a photo order online, and called to check on the status. It turned out my order couldn't be printed for 2 weeks because their photo machine is out of service. When I asked if I could cancel my online order, the person I spoke to was unusually curt and rude, then he hung up on me. Hopefully he had some personal issues going on this week, because if that's how he acts all the time, I feel sorry for his co-workers!
Ali is a top notch pharmacist. I swear he is more knowledgeable then most of my doctor's. Walgreens Boonton is the best pharmacy around! All of the pharmacist there are friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Thank you Walgreens...
