VA Outpatient Clinic Sunrise

I've been to multiple VAs and this one is by far the worst. I thought Miami was but this place is worse. Primary care doctor retired and I keep getting passed between different doctors who tell me different things for the same issues. The staff a the check in desks act as if your presence is a bother to their existence. Can't get appointments in a timely manner, and again, when you walk in they call for you whisper quiet and when you ask for confirmation you just get stared at. I'll be changing my location to Palm Beach, well worth the drive and tolls to not go here. Veterans deserve better.

In last 18 months, substantial decline in timely appointment availability and/or access to Physicians. With exception in Nursing, understaffing in clerical or support positions along with retirement/transfers of Physicians has shown negatively in performance and a lack in willingness to take on any customer support roles beyond what is in their job description. Resulting in Patients' inconsistent and continued care, especially those diagnosed with chronic conditions; long gaps in mental health monitoring; to include delays in prescription renewals. Until VA can get a handle on internal issue, strongly encourage utilization of approved Community Care resources. Also recommend timely response to Email correspondence via MyHealthVet system.

The provided services are good mostly on appointment. If you go for a walk in. Be prepared for a long wait. Better use the urgent care. Today I am at the Eye Clinic and waiting for 2hr and 30 min. And still waiting with 3 pacients still waiting. I have realized that appointments are priority regardless the urgency of the need. Veteran deserve better service

I went to my VA primary DR with sciatica symptoms, he sent me to PT (physical therapy). It took 2.5 months to get my first appointment/evaluation. I fell 8 times during that 2.5 month period. Physical Therapist Ryan McGee performed a very thorough evaluation, which resulted in me getting x-rays and CT scan at this location and eventually an EMG test at the Miami VA. My weekly PT by Ryan McGee has been absolutely excellent. T he only negative takeaway is the 2.5 month wait to get my PT evaluation. My PT treatments at this location are as good if not better than PT treatments that I have received in the past at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL.
