UTMB Health - University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston

I had the absolute very best Visit today! I absolutely love the entire staff, appointment clerks, Nurse (Mary Burns), Amazing ~ one of a kind Doctor (Bailey Hunt). They all were totally amazing, kind, friendly, caring, and supportive. I feel very blessed to have this wonderful staff available. My kids and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. If I could rate them a 10+ by all means I would! It’s been awhile since I’ve encountered such wonderful people in one place. Just truly wholeheartedly appreciate each of them. Thank you all.

Merkera at the front desk of John Sealy is a very nice person, she always greets people whenever they come in and make sure that the lobby is clean and well taken care of, she’s very outgoing and talkative. I give her 5 stars.

As a patient staying here for the last two weeks after surgery, all I can say is that they should NOT have spent $5,000,000.00 on a new UTMB logo until their hospitals were fully staffed. The C-suite and upper management folks obviously don’t care about the patients or the employees. Press your room’s call button and wait an hour for assistance because they don’t have enough staff. Not uncommon to have 1 Nurse overseeing 8 patients at any given time here… Should be criminal. As long as I have a choice, I won’t EVER be back to any UTMB facility. This place is the perfect example of what’s wrong with the American healthcare system. Would NOT recommend UTMB to anyone.

Loved my experience giving birth at this hospital. Very professional, very sweet staff. (Ms. Renee) The nurse on night shift on 5th floor took great care of me after having my babygirl . She was the most sweetest, genuine, and wholeheartedly nurses I've ever had.

Make sure you validate your ticket. It would have been nice to know what was wrong with my leg. No one could tell me that. My primary care doctor helped me a lot. I got a shot to help with the pain and he gave me a muscle relaxer which really helped my leg stretch out more so I was finally able to wear shoes again. He even referred me to Ortho and Ortho was able to fit me in their schedule the next day. Ortho was useless though. The overall energy was very socialable, moreso amongst themselves than with us the actual patients. Overall, it was like I was at a... You'll never guess it... a university. Lol. I would recommend this place. They seem very efficient. They try their best to get you out with quality care so you can get your medicine and go back to work.
