Because of them, my mom is removed from the transplant list after having a doner already and doing everything they told her to do. Very nice people, but put too much hope for someone who is dying. Every visit was always something else that she had to do and they never gave her a date for the transplant. What did you expect for the body to react if it never got it’s transplant? Of course her body is going to shut down little by little. My mom did everything they told her to do and she did. She kept strong everyday for years, and now that they told her that she’s removed, she has no hope but to accept that she will not live long. Having her wait has left her very weak to the point she cannot even walk anymore, lost so much weight and it’s hard to see her like this everyday. Thank you for not

I had good care while at UTMB. My one complaint is the bad communication between doctors,nurses and patients. I was on & off liquid diets so often because nurses wouldn't know "Is she supposed to eat? Does she only have only have ice and water?so I'd be fasting when I should've been eating. The Dr's took an extremely long time, sometimes overnight. to send orders to let nurses know also. So they didn't change the orders for the kitchen. Other than this my medical care was very good.

These people have given my wife amazing care. I know it’s a teaching hospital, so there’s going to be a lot of doctors in and out. Sometimes communication breaks down but overall, I am so happy with how well they’ve taken care of my wife.

Very unorganized. Communication is God awful. Sends you to have a procedure without proper IDM CODE. Get it together for God sakes. Or get someone who knows what they are doing. This is getting ridiculous. This is why we use HCA as our primary hospital instead of UTMB here lately . Care and patient support has went down hill.
