UTMB Health Pediatric Primary Care, Galveston

I took my youngest kid here for her 15-month wellness check-up, and I had a great experience. We didn't have a good experience at the UTMB pediatric clinic on Harborside Dr and were worried about this visit, but we were relieved that it turned out great. It was night and day compared to the other clinic. Dr. Yang and the nurse were very friendly and were great with my daughter, trying to calm her as she was freaking out. Dr. Yang even gave her and my older kid books after the visit. The nurse was great with administering the shots and got everything done within a few minutes.

I just want to say I was absolutely impressed by Dr. Rogers and her show of affection to my baby boy on our recent visit. I was previously taking my little one to the UTMB pediatrics office closer to our house but switched to the Galveston office since its closer to family and wow, I am so glad I did! Dr. Rogers shared how important water safety is and encouraged us to learn CPR and also provided us with a safety whistle for the pool and brochure for me and my family to read over. She took her time with us and thoroughly checked out my baby boy to make sure he was healthy and happy. I’m so used to just rushing through our doctor visit which makes me feel like my baby is just another number on the list but that was definitely not the case on with this visit. Needed nurse Cayla Clapp to get something signed. I was told 2-3 business days. It’s now day 4 and still nothing. This is an urgent matter and I’m having a panic attack now thanks to her and Dr Noble. Due to this negligence I had to cancel an extremely important appointment for my daughter and still owe the $400 for not being able to make the appointment today and have to miss another day of work. I am beyond livid at the unprofessionalism. If only every doctor and nurse there could be as good as Dr Hairfield this would have probably been taken care of early. Side note, all of the receptionists were helpful in calling the nurse (who never answered) and making me feel like they expressed it was an urgent matter to the Doctor. Was treated like I was stupid. Just being a worried mom and the whole time was treated like I didn’t know anything. I would not take your baby here. He also had a fever and they didn’t even bother to say anything. I like utmb but I would never take my kid to this center again and if he really needs to go to the doctor and can’t fit in with his doctor I will be going to texas children. I would rather spend thousands knowing my child is okay than going here and being treated how I was. UPDATE found out that rash that the doctor here said all baby’s get rashes was severe eczema and had a food allergy. Definitely don’t go here.

Provider actually refused to see my baby after we had scheduled an appt in afternoon bc we saw a nurse here that morning who referred us to go to ER... Well, we went to ER, wasted our entire day, were super stressed out and spent $$$, only to find out he had ear infection and the common cold. Thanks for absolutely nothing, this place cannot even diagnose the most basic issues...and doctors dont even bother to see patients... never again.
